What Are DTF Transfers?
DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your design is printed with water-based inks directly onto a clear PET film, coated with hot-melt adhesive powder, and cured. When you heat press it onto a garment, the adhesive bonds the ink to the fabric — no screens, no vinyl cutting, no weeding.
Unlike screen printing, DTF works on dark and light fabrics equally well because of the white ink underbase. And unlike vinyl HTV, you can reproduce photorealistic artwork with millions of colors and smooth gradients.

Press at 305°F for 15 seconds with medium pressure, then peel cold. Finished prints last 50+ wash cycles and resist cracking, fading, and peeling far better than vinyl or plastisol transfers.

How long do DTF transfers last?
DTF transfers are extremely durable — they'll typically last 50+ wash cycles when pressed correctly (305°F, 15 seconds, medium pressure, peel cold). They resist cracking, fading and peeling far better than vinyl HTV or plastisol transfers.

What file types can I upload?
We accept PNG, JPG, SVG, PDF, AI, EPS and PSD files. For best results, use PNG files with transparent backgrounds at 300 DPI. Our builder includes a free background remover and AI upscaler so you can prep low-res or messy artwork before printing.
Do I need to remove the background from my designs?
Yes — DTF transfers print only the colored pixels. Any background color (including white) will be printed and visible on your garment. Our gang sheet builder has a one-click background remover that handles this automatically.
